Since the engines were built for economy and not performance, there is very little third party interest in any serious performance upgrades. I've been working on a few things but so far haven't had much luck. Currently I'm looking into bigger throttle bodies, bigger fuel injectors, and a couple other things. I'd like to pioneer the mr16ddt swap as well. im hoping the mr16 will receive more support than the 18 and 20 ever did. supposedly, the 16 will bolt up to our engine mounts and our transmissions. its just a question of wiring and computers now.

I've been doing exactly that, trying to source parts from other nissans that will work on our cars (hence the 300 brakes) I believe qr25 injectors will work on our cars, but I'm still researching. The last gen Sentra uses the same platform as us I believe, so I've been looking at some of their suspension products to see if they will work for us, as the older Sentra have acquired a good following from the aftermarket community. I'm also working with people like Bob from versa speed who have contacts and can get parts for us (like the seat brackets from wedge engineering). It's all a matter of time. Gotta realize that this is still a fairly new car over here. It's been around in the Asian market since the early 2000's, but it's only been here for 6ish years now. I think once we get a few more companies involved, others will follow. It takes a dedicated group of people like ourselves to get the tuning scene started.

How much of the tiida parts fit in the versa? I doubt it's 1-to-1

If you want to upgrade the motor, turbo is the best choice to do. It's possible to do and i already made it.

problem over here is that the car scene is completely different. The big aftermarket companies don't wanna bother with the versa because its "just another eco-car" Then you try to go and get the small time tuning shops to do it and they don't want to cause they'd rather spend their time on something bigger and better.
Overseas, cars like the versa/tiida are well respected and carry soem street cred. Over here... Its a different story

well guys can always do a big boy swap and put a qr25 down in the v there are plenty of forged internals as well as turbo kits for them check out treadstones site if dont believe me i was debating this swap myself but its going to be a little costly id rather just swap mr20 and rotrex it with some bolt ons and be happy

Personally I'm aiming for the mr16ddt with a stage 2 upgrade kit. More boost, bigger injectors, fmic, etc. To me that's the best way of getting some solid power out of this car. The 1.6 has as much hp stock as a base qr25, so with some bolt ones I'm hoping to be over 200 hp. Eventually the aftermarket companies will come to the table on that one and we'll see some mad parts for it too.
