I have concerns! My versa has been getting around 25mpg lately..which is not acceptable! When I first got her last march she was around 30mpg before she was even broken in! I'm really hoping the MPG improves soon..

I have been getting about 7.8-8.0L/100 kms here (usually making it to 500 kms before the low fuel light comes on). Mind you, that's almost 80% or more of city driving for me as I work in the downtown core. I find that slow starts from a stop, and less hard braking has improved my mileage.

I'm getting a shameful 14.5L/100km out of my 2012 Versa 1.8L Hatchback (CVT).
This deplorable fuel mileage has been the source of many headaches for me in the past couple months, and I'm still not clear if there's something I can do that will drastically improve my mileage. I'm going to attempt driving the car cold (ie. not idling in cold temperatures) and see if that helps, but I can't see it making up for the nearly 6L/100km I seem to be consuming more than what Nissan Canada claims this car can do.

Are you the owner from Timmins? Either way welcome! Even though it's spending to save money, try plugging in the engine block heater for an hour or two prior to startup. You've probably already thought of that, but give it a shot. Running block heater all night is overkill, but an hour should do. I've found fuel cleaner makes no difference, but my v gets driven regularly, almost every day. The winter fuel formulation definitely kills the mpgs. I could easily make it to 400km at half tank mark, now 350 is normal, and 370 impossible on 87 octane! I don't wait for the low fuel light to come on before refilling in the wintertime, so i can't reference for that. Also my cvt Altima almost never comes close to hwy govt figures. Mmmmm me like the mpg thread ;D

^ I've never tried using my engine block heater, I do park indoors every night, so I've never found the need to. It hasn't been that cold so far this winter.

Two of the three walls in our garage are insulated, as is the roof. But the one side and garage doors are not insulated.
