Hey everyone, after some discussion about having a large meet for the East Cost members, I am inviting anyone who can make it to Washington DC on July 27/28 (last weekend in July) for a meet. The location for the meet will begin at George Washington Memorial Highway Park, located 7 miles from Washington DC. We will BBQ and hangout, and then at one point we will head on a cruise to Washington DC where hopefully we can catch some nice pictures of everyone.
Information on the park is located here: George Washington Memorial Parkway - George Washington Memorial Parkway
For people driving a long distance, we are still looking at hotels, and a member has even mentioned he will give some of is AA points for cheaper hotels.
This thread is to get interest for this meet going, and to promote the meet so we can have as many Versas at the meet as possible! So to summarize:
What: East Coast Meet- Washington DC Where: George Washington Memorial Highway Park (George Washington Memorial Parkway - George Washington Memorial Parkway) When: July 27/28 Why: It's time to meet and greet!
Feel free to throw any input everyone!

I'm in! If there's another member driving from afar who wants to split a hotel room I'd be up for that.

I'd be up for this. I'm coming from Bristol, VA. Can use my points towards a hotel... Just need to know which ones and go from there. I need to call AAdvantage to make sure that after redeeming them, it won't cost anyone a dime..

Ok. I spoke to AAdvantage, and they told me I can get a room with up to 4 people. My close friend is going to be riding with me, so that means I'll have two spots open. Keep in mind, this is not going to cost me or anybody anything for the reservation.
I just need to know what hotel everyone is going to (make it easier for me and everyone), and who needs a spot. I think Jonathan expressed interest, since he's coming from Canada.
(Of course, donations would be great. Haha)

Yeah, I come to Canada! (Jonathan) I'm always In!! Sweet. As I told you, once I get details of what hotel(s) everyone is going to; I'll reserve it. I want to get the same hotel as everyone else, if all possible. Lastly, I will forward you the confirmation from AA once I reserve it. (meaning, I'll need your email address) For anyone else, I still have one more spot open.

Rather than you planning around us, it'd probably be easier for us to plan around you. Not sure what hotels cost in the DC area. Hopefully something below $150/night, with a continental breakfast.

Hopefully something below $150/night, with a continental breakfast. To clarify what I meant as in points... Here is a screenshot of what it would cost me for a hotel. ( sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/963881_4262336054976_491915590_o.jpg ) I don't mind taking donations for the room. Because I'm having to use my points I have (35,000), and you don't pay a dime to the hotel. Yes, I've confirmed this through AmericanAirlines. Jonathan is a tentative, so I'll have one more space left; as my friend is joining. Now to answer your question, I can get one from anywhere in DC. I will do some research on what's cheap (and quality).

The hotel I'm looking at is below:
Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel Foxcroft Heights 900 S Orme Street Arlington, Virginia, 22204 US
Seems to be about 89$/night
I'm thinking of reserving for that Friday and check out Sunday. I still have one more spot open...
