I know a few of our members have used plasti dip before and I was wondering what you thought about it? I'm looking at dipping my enkies and was wanting some input on your experience.

ive plastidipped my mirrors and part of my front bumper. so far it has held against rain and shine and road trip abuse, came out solid too. before spraying i let the can sit in some warm water to warm it up before spraying. helps reduce the cloggy buildup on the nozzle as well as giving you a smooth even spray (the plastic part of the plastidip tends to want to clump more so than normal spray paint) IMG_20121223_151001 by OneGoldfishh, on Flickr

did you use the pre dip spray and if not how did you clean the parts so the dip would stick good?

"plastI dip" And it's really easy to use. Honestly. As long as you clean the surface with whatever you normally use to clean your wheels, you'll be fine. If you see a spot you don't like, you can just peel it off and re-do it. Plasti Dip is awesome.

Where do you guys normally buy this stuff? I want to spray my roof this summer with black plastidip. How many cans would I need? Do I just clean the roof before hand?

If you got to Plastidip.com on the top tabs there is a distributor finder. There you will find a list of stores that sell the product.

Check Home Depot or your local home improvement shop. They will sell pre-thinned spray cans and un-thinned plastidip cans. The Spray can is real easy to use, might need to check DipYourCar.com to get other colors. Here's my grill I Dipped: Check DipYourCar's youtube channel for tutorials and such.

lowes and home depot have it, just check the availability through the site or calling beforehand just in case. during winter break, home depot said they were consistently sold out cause people kept buying it up, and lowes had some at only a few stores

Plastidip is greeeeeeat! I use it for everything. This spring I'm planing on doing my whole car.
the key to plastidip, like any painting, is the prep work. You have to make sure there is no leftover wax/dust/grease. If i'm plastidipping a body panel, I use a combination of regular car wash liquid and dish soap. The dish soap removes any wax that's left on the car.
