Rice may help, but idk if you want to stick your laptop in rice. Just let it dry for a day or two, and see what happens. Good luck with it!

Turn computer upside down and make it into a ^ shape when the spill happens. My bro said his coworkers spill coffee all the time at the office ... they do this trick, and laptops continue to work fine.

It saddens me when electronics crap out. However, congrats on the upgrade.

Nice!
My MacBook is down in the dumps ... It's old now, on a second battery (ebay for $30), but it has a mind of its own. Really thinking of just selling it for a couple hundred bucks and buying a cheap laptop. All I want is one to upload photos. I use my iPad all the time at home so I don't need a really good laptop for school anymore ... Decisions, decisions.

My Macbook is over 4 years old now ... I want something cheap to upload pics from my digital camera and has a working word processing program (for resumes/cover letters). I'll check in the US next time I'm there.

I prefer typing documents on an actual keyboard, plus I need a computer that I can put a memory card in to upload pics. My MacBook doesn't even have that. I might just keep it since I download stuff on it still, and buy a cheapo netbook or laptop when I see a good priced one.

Lol, I use my iPad too (right now), but still prefer the Mac for typing. I have two external hard drives & realized I had to reformat them for a Mac ... Guess I'm keeping my MacBook forever lol.

Just picked up an HP laptop. MacBook was really crapping out on me ... just keeping it as a downloading tool. I didn't want to spend another $1000+ on a MacBook.

Stop dropping laptops LOL, I keep my Vostro V131 in a neoprene sleeve, and then into my T-Tech laptop bag. good padding. Need a PC just to run a flight sim? (this one is for mac: amzn.com/B007TMFD7C)I guess you could make a really small form factor PC, I built my full size gaming rig for about $900, but it's pretty boss. A small form factor Gaming PC might be around $400-$600, depending on the specs. For instance: Mini ITX Z77 board - $60 Core i3 - $150 Shuttlebox case with psu - $60 GTX 650ti - $150 (or GTX 660 - $230) 4gb Corsair Vengeance Ram - $25 500gb HDD - $50 It will no doubt play games better than any mac mini or mac for the same cost.

I had a Dell laptop in university, it lasted about 2 years. It is really really hard getting used to a PC again ... especially with this new Windows 8 stuff :S

You bought a Dell consumer version? or a Business/XPS?
I've had a XPS 410 desktop from 2007, a Studio XPS 16 Laptop from 2009, and the Vostro V131 from 2011. All working perfect so far.
I never buy consumer products, they just feel cheap. I did have an HP DV2620 that lasted since 2008, but finally overheated in 2012. Mom's desktop is an HP as well, but it s a low powered slim desktop.
